Trying to do more paintery effect-type things, I think may have come out too blurry around the wings though.
Another Ludum Dare game! This time the theme was minimalism.

figured I should do my own challenge. Normal-type fighting (makes you think normal-type pokemon shouldn’t fight at all if that’s what they’re weak to??)
took a break for about an hour speed paint. Which is still taking up sleep time ha.
So this is another one of Pixel Joint’s weekly challenges that I happened to have time for. Since the shape is a randomish blob I decided to show some of the process. Came out a bit better than I expected. (edit: added x2 because tumblr loves resizing gifs for whatever reason…)

Another abstract landscape thing. I guess it’s like mist or green fire or dunno?? Spent too long on this when I should be doing other things.
Vulpix doing fire spin or something. also a tattoo.
Came out a bit more crayon-y than expected… might be because of the brush texture. Basic shading without any overlay to hopefully make it look more like a tattoo.
So I’ve been working on my ludum dare 25 game since winter break to try and get it to polished compact state. And here it is.
